You’re an amazing sports writer, J. I love reading your posts! I nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award on my own site, here http://monalisareflections.wordpress.com/2011/12/31/versatile-blogger-award/ Thank you so much for being such a sweet friend who always entertains me 🙂 Happy New Year Sweetie!

  4. I’m a fan of your worst teams of all time segments. I have a few ideas for that segment.

    1) 2008 Seattle Mariners (61-101). First team to lose 100+ games with a $100 million payroll. I don’t bring up the early Mariners teams from the late 70s-early 1980s for the same reason you don’t bring up the 1962 Mets. Too early in the game.
    2) 2010 Pittsburgh Pirates (57-105, worse than the 1985 team)
    3) 2004 Arizona Diamondbacks, a team that went from being World Champions in 2001 to finishing dead last in 2004, with a 51-111 record.

    4) 1991 Cleveland Indians, who did worse than the 1987 Cleveland Indians.

    5) 1982 Cincinnati Reds. The one time the Reds lost 100 games, the year the Big Red Machine came to an end.

    6) 1985 San Francisco Giants. The only time the Giants lost 100 games as a San Francisco team.

BTW, I have my own blog about geography. Eventually, I will have a sports entry, sometime in the next few weeks. https://thegeoscholar.wordpress.com/
