It’s getting serious now. Teams are scrambling for playoff spots, home field advantage and better draft positioning. It’s week 15 and here are my pick for this week.
Green Bay at Kansas City.
The Packers are shooting for perfection. The Chiefs are coach hunting. Even though the game is in Arrowhead, I’m picking Green Bay to win.
Washington at New York Giants.
The Giants are coming off an emotional win over Dallas and control their own destiny in the NFC East. The Redskins would love to play spoiler but I see them playing for next season. Giants win.
Miami at Buffalo.
Two teams playing for next year. Miami is looking for a new coach. Buffalo is looking lost. Miami wins ugly.
Seattle at Chicago.
The Bears are coming off a devastating loss to Denver last week and won’t have Jay Cutler or Matt Forte in the lineup. The Seahawks have been playing better lately and have an outside chance at the playoffs. Upset special. Seattle wins.
Carolina at Houston.
The Texans have clinched their first AFC South title in franchise history and are now shooting for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I really admire this Houston team for playing solid football despite the numerous injuries this team has suffered. Carolina is in next year mode. Houston wins.
Tennessee at Indianapolis.
The Titans are in must win mode as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Colts really want Andrew Luck next year. Tennessee wins.
New Orleans at Minnesota.
The Saints are on a roll and are still entertaining thoughts of a first round bye in the playoffs. The Vikings have had no luck this year and now with rumours of relocation swirling, the distraction won’t help. New Orleans wins.
Cincinnati at St. Louis.
A must win game for the Bengals as they try to avoid a collapse late in the season. The Rams are in next year mode but something tells me they play spoiler today. Upset special. St. Louis wins.
Detroit at Oakland.
Intriguing matchup between the two bad boys of the NFL. The Lions welcome back Ndamukong Suh from a two game suspension and they need to win to stay in the playoff chase. The same goes for the Raiders. This could be a 5 hour game as these two teams are the most penalized teams in the NFL. Going with my heart and picking Detroit to win but I’m not sure about this one.
Cleveland at Arizona.
Give credit to the Cardinals for scoring some impressive upset victories over Dallas and San Francisco the last two weeks. The Cardinals slim playoff hopes remain alive and they need to keep on winning to keep the hope going. The Browns are fighting amongst themselves and are a mess of a franchise. Arizona wins.
New York Jets at Philadelphia.
Two teams with so much promise at the start of the year now are in desperation mode. The Jets do control their own destiny though and the defence has stepped up its game the last couple of weeks. The Eagles are a better team with Michael Vick under centre but Andy Reid’s time is running out. New York Jets win this one.
New England at Denver.
Tom Brady vs. Tim Tebow. In fact you could put anyone vs. Tim Tebow and the game would be covered as the biggest story of the century on ESPN. I’m not a Tebow fan but I have to give him a little credit. When the game is on the line, he does produce in the clutch and doesn’t wilt under pressure. More credit however has to be given to Denver’s defence which is very underrated but very good. Rookie linebacker Von Miller is a beast and is difficult to contain from the outside. Miller’s partner in crime is defensive end Elvis Dumervil whose pass rushing skills will give Brady fits. Yes New England is good. But Denver has magic right now and I’m going to ride it for a while. Denver wins in another upset and Tebow miracle.
Baltimore at San Diego.
The Ravens are in a nasty battle for the AFC North title and have eyes on home field throughout the playoffs. The Chargers are trying to make one last run but will fall short and Norv Turner will be fired at the end of the season. Baltimore wins.
Pittsburgh at San Francisco.
Finally a good Monday Night game. The Steelers are in the thick of the AFC North battle and need the win to keep pace with Baltimore. The 49ers have clinched the NFC West title but need the win to hold off New Orleans and retain a first round bye. While the 49ers deserve much credit for their turnaround, I believe they’ll meet their match here. Pittsburgh wins.
Last week 11-5. 2-0 so far this week.
